David Einhorn's preferred stock proposal is "creative," Tim Cook states at a Goldman conference. But he calls Einhorn's opposition to Prop. 2 a "silly sideshow," and insists the measure is meant to empower shareholders. He claims Apple's (AAPL -1.2%) management/board are in "very active discussions" about returning additional cash, but remains tight-lipped about details. Apple is spiking lower after temporarily doing the opposite. (live blog) (webcast) (previous) [View news story]
Deals with the issuance of Preferred Stock, or rather, preventing the company from issuing preferred stock as part of its capital structure.

Sounds like Cook confirmed that the company will finally be distributing some of the cash on hand. Note also, he called Einhorn's method creative...last I checked, Apple loves to be "creative". Just something to think about.
Google (GOOG) discloses chairman Eric Schmidt plans to sell 3.2M Class A shares, or 42% of his stake in the company, over the course of 2013 through a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan. The sale will encompass nearly 1% of Google's outstanding shares, and 3.2% of their voting power. (8-K) [View news story]
Stupid reason to see the stock sell off 6+ points. Nothing has changed fundamentally about Google except for the fear factor. Fear that the CEO's selling is a signal that the stock "might" be at a top. IMHO GOOG is a buy on the dip.
Apple (AAPL) is indeed thinking of selling an iWatch, both the NYT and WSJ report. Sources claim Apple is experimenting with iOS-based watches made of curved glass, and has discussed the matter with Foxconn. If an iWatch ever arrives, there's a good chance it will use Corning's (GLW) Willow Glass, which was created with bendable displays in mind. Former Apple UI designer Bruce Tognazzini recently predicted an iWatch will arrive, while providing a long list of apps/services it might support. [View news story]
Not for nothing, but why is it that multiple people feel it necessary to repost the same link to the article that was mentioned in the original SA post? Just saying.

Completely Agree. I don't usually like it when a stock pre-announces because it can often leave much to be desired on earnings day. Since this stock hasn't been treated fairly though, I wouldn't mind a little sand bagging, especially with consensus EPS of 0.725...going to blow that number out of the water.
Zynga's (ZNGA -2.8%) U.K. real-money gambling titles (offered in partnership with local player bwin.party) will be available on the Web, PC apps, Facebook (FB), and perhaps also mobile apps, says chief revenue officer Barry Cottle. A Facebook spokeswoman states her company is comfortable with supporting U.K. online gambling, which could provide a boost to (slowing) Facebook Payments growth. Two sites - ZyngaPlusPoker and ZyngaPlusCasino - will launch by the end of June. (previous) (Nevada) [View news story]
Interesting...I don't see any mention of an app for BB10.

I too am a Redbox user, though not all that often. Will you be looking into the company's joint venture with Verizon for a streaming service? If I'm not mistaken I believe the cost is $8 and you'll receive 4 One-night rentals from a kiosk as well and for $1 more you can rent 4 Blu-Ray DVD's. I don't have streaming capabilities at home yet, though if the company creates an AP for LG Smart TV's I would certainly consider using the streaming service.

Stock ran up too much pre-earnings. The AH drop makes perfect sense...it's called PROFIT-TAKING!

Really? You refuse to use Pandora because it requires a login? Maybe I'm wrong and Americans really are as lazy as foreigners believe us to be!
