    UVXY is not behaving properly today. Not tracking the underlying or XIV/VXX. Underlying is up while the Vol Futures ETFs are all red

    • Josh Krause: I saw the story too but still perplexed. If large inflows but still falling apart, are they issuing more shares? Underlying still green.

    • tashe: CS re: TVIX has indicated they are not issuing more new shares (units) so it is like a closed end.

    • Josh Krause: Yeah, I know all about TVIX. UVXY and friends had been trading the underlying almost perfectly until today.

    • Josh Krause: 1% until we are below 2011 lows on the underlying index for VXX. Recent action indicates that it will not prove to be significant resistance

    • tashe: Today TVIX seems to be trading close to the ^SPVXSP SHORTTERM FUTURESINDEXER which has been alternatiing red and green now up 25.54 (0.30)

    • Josh Krause: VXX is down twice as much as the underlying with UVXY down twice that. Looks like we will test the lows in SPVXSP today.

    • satan2liberals: I still don't get why some peple think shorting xiv is a good idea, going long vxx or uvxy makes much more sense under the right conditions

    • DirtyTackle: shorting XIV works when decay is your side, currently short term VIX futures just continue to drop and drive XIV higher

    • DirtyTackle: Eventually, there will be another volatility spike and XIV will drop rapidly, but it might get to $12-$13 before it happens
