    KFC China chicken controversy is just the tip of an iceberg. Underneath the 45 vs 100-day chicken debate, local media and consumers are questioning the safety of its entire supply chain.
    Chicken and weather/dining behavior issues aside, a much bigger question is whether KFC China has well passed the inflection point of its growth cycle. Just like Chinese infrastructure investment has started to yield diminishing return on investments as the projects are pushed from coastal to inner provinces and areas, KFC China expansion will not exempt from the same law of diminishing return.
    Sure they can and will open new stores in smaller cities, but much less populated cities with much lower average household income are unlikely to yield similar profit growth for the company.
    Without a doubt, KFC China has been a tremendously success story so far. Nevertheless, just like any other high growth companies such as Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Coach (NYSE: COH), investors now are asking what the next leg of growth, especially in the face of mounting competition and a slower growing economy.
