    • Justin Jaynes: beats $AMD kabini 1, $INTC Bay Trail 1, $AAPL 2 (number = tests won on Anandtech by the respective chip maker)

    • Justin Jaynes: Can't wait to see the A7X version of the chip

    • Ashraf Eassa: Very impressive on $AAPL's part. It is very good that $AAPL isn't a merchant vendor of SoCs.

    • Ashraf Eassa: But remember, the majority of those benchmarks are single threaded. Look at the GB3 results.

    • Ashraf Eassa: Core-for-core, the A7 CPU is about on par w/ SLM. Different clocks, but likely same power (Cyclone makes up for low clock w/ width)

    • Ashraf Eassa: In any case, $INTC needs to step up its game :P

    • marinpcguy: the a7 was manufactured by intel foe apple.

    • 392334: I assume this chip is on 28nm, where Intel is on a smaller process?! If that's the case then AMD's future ARM processor willbe interesting!

    • Justin Jaynes: @#'s - as bullish as I am on AMD, don't forget that Apple's cores are based on an ARM ISA, but aren't actually designed by ARM

    • Justin Jaynes: IMO, "Cyclone" is probably going to be more potent than standard A57 cores

    • 392334: Correct. I assume Jim Keller helped build the Apple cores, and that his expertise will be used to optimize the ARM cores.

    • pmarathe: @Justin, have a look of, pic.twitter.com/1Ewx6Qm4U1. ATech review is quite misleading this time.

    • Justin Jaynes: @Pmarathe - thanks for the link. It definitely paints a better picture than the AT review.
