This article is not saying that YHOO is buying NFLX definitely. Becuas the two companies are ailing and YHOO needs a means to differentiate, the question is a valid one.

  • Why A Netflix Buyout By Yahoo Would Ruin Them Both [View article]
Kingfrogcash: the problem lies in the fact that NFLX is not sustainable and YHOO buying the company will not change that. The problem is within the cost of content and no matter who is writing the check, that will not change.

  • After The Dust Settles, What Is Facebook Really Worth? [View article]
AngleSideSide: My point about P is that the company began its days of a public company with a valuation that is was too high. The company has not met analyst expectations of profitability. Due to the stocks performance, the company has clearly either 1. not met analysts expectations or 2. came to the street with an unreasonable valuation. Predicted reasons for stock performance is difficult in the short-term, but the numbers don't lie.

  • What The Fed's Past Can Tell Us About Our Future [View article]
Mobyss: I do not believe it is accurate to call the Federal Reserve detached from the government. The institution was created in response to panics like that of 1907. It's position in our nation is to serve as a central bank. If the FED is not acting on behalf of our nation or are people, then who is it acting on behalf of?

  • Obama's State Of The Union And How It Impacts Us [View article]
James: we are basically arguing the same point. America is unable to provide the people or facilities that other nations are to major corporations. Unemployment will be a systemic crisis in the coming years... Due to both a lack of trained individuals and the lack of nations employing on the same grounds.

  • Obama's State Of The Union And How It Impacts Us [View article]
Tony: I do not understand your characterization of me... But that aside, I do not follow your suggestion that "we're coming to an end of a series of crises." the truth that later this year many of our largest problems (aforementioned) are going to come to a head later this year. To say that we are at the end of a crisis is naive.

This article was meant to be a long-term analysis of why Apple is a strong company. Daily market fluctuation does not chance long-term fundamental principles.

Bobbobwhite: there are absolutely two sides to the dividend issue, but I feel a one time cash payout could boost the stock from an investment perspective. The future of Apple shall be interesting.

  • For Long-Term Stability, Sell Clorox And Buy Johnson & Johnson [View article]
twm3823: I believe that in the case of investing in one of these companies long-term, it is best to have exposure to the one that holds less debt on its balance sheet. Though they do not compete neck and neck in all products does not mean that fundamentally they do not exhibit many of the same qualities as companies and stocks.

cpa28761: Thank you for your thoughtful analysis. I agree that the two companies are not exactly the same, but from a financial prospective they are both large-cap, save-havens for investors. Your point about PG debt due to the acquisition of Gillette is interesting, but i still stand to the believe (as you do) "that JNJ is a much better company and investment than CLX."

I would argue that the high dividend is due to the high level of risk that investors are taking by buying SVU.
