For those of you who are new to this series it would probably be most beneficial for you to start by reading the first article in the series. From there you may skip around as much as you like since the details of the process are all held within that first article and with that all the others should make sense.

This series is an expose of all the companies that are on my master list of stocks I either own or would like to own should I have the funds available when the respective prices become attractive. The first article explains my process for selecting the companies on the list. It is really a process of elimination. There a few exceptions, but in some cases where I know enough about the company and its industry I become somewhat more lenient. PepsiCo and Coke are two examples that I felt deserved some leniency. I must stress that the articles in this blog do not represent recommendations to buy any stocks at current levels. This is a process, just as investing is a process, in that we start by creating a list of stocks representing companies that we would like to own because of long-term performance and prospects exhibited by each one. When to buy each stock is another matter and the next step in the investing process.

Most articles I write will either focus on one or more of the companies on this list. I occasionally stray from the list when a special situation arises, but otherwise I try to stick with what I know best. I hope you enjoy this series and that you gain something of some value from the articles it contains.

I will come back and update this and the other index blogs at least weekly to keep them current, so check back whenever it is convenient. I plan to write one or more articles for each series each week in the future.
