  • 10 Stocks Dumped by the Smart Money During the Most Recent Quarter [View article]
    Hi,

Yep, guilty as charged. Should have factored it in (it's been a long week). I just checked the rest of the list, and ETFC and FBC are the only companies that did a reverse split.

  • 13 High Yielding Dividend Stocks Seeing Significant Insider Buying [View article]
Just a quick note on Cedar Fair. Apologies for the error. We sourced that data from Yahoo Finance, which shows the dividend is still active (finance.yahoo.com/q?s=fun).

That said, there are some rumors of the company's dividend making a comeback: toledoblade.com/articl...

Definitely one to watch over the coming weeks...

  • 15 Oversold Stocks With High Inventory Turnover Ratios [View article]
    Hi MicroCaptain,

Ineffective buying, e.g. the company buys too often in small quantities. This might boost the inventory turnover ratio, but the company might end up pushing the buying price higher.

Also, a high turnover ratio can also indicate a shortage or inadequate inventory levels, which may lead to a loss in business.

This link explains the concept in greater detail: www.ccdconsultants.com...

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Matthew,

Yep, Brocade can probably be added. Its RSI(14) is at 36.71, and they're up on August 18. Their RSI was a little too high for the screen when we compiled the list...

  • 17 Most Undervalued S&P 500 Stocks by Analyst Target Price [View article]
    Hi dbestalvaro,
We're using $32.64 as the reference point (i.e. denominator), a theoretical fair value (as determined by analyst target prices).

    ((16.69 - 32.64)/32.64) = -48.87% below fair value.

    Hope that helps.

  • 20 Stocks With Unusual Options Activity Ahead of the Weekend [View article]
    Hi Sonrisa777,

The ratio takes the number of put option contracts that are currently open, and divides it by the number of call option contracts. At the moment, there are 132,630 open put contracts on ARNA, and 142,839 open call contracts. 132,630 / 142,839 = 0.93, i.e. the Put / Call ratio.

The fact that there are more call options trading than put options shows that option traders, as a group, are optimistic about the stock.

Hope that helps. Have a good weekend!

  • 13 High Yield Dividend Stocks Being Chased by Smart Money [View article]
Just a quick correction regarding FTR:

The article incorrectly shows FTR with a $1.00/annum dividend (note that we sourced this dividend data from Yahoo Finance, which had the wrong number).  On May 13, 2009, FTR announced their annual rate would be $0.75 after their transaction with Verizon closed, which it did on July 1, 2010.

    The correct dividend yield for FTR is $0.75 / $7.66 = 9.79%.

    Apologies for the confusion.

  • 8 Companies With Low Price / Cash Ratios [View article]
    Hi Dan,

We're including short-term investments too. Cash of $1.8B, plus short term investments of $6.76B, brings their cash and short term investments total to $8.578B.

Humana has 170.2M shares outstanding, which implies $50.40 in cash per share. We express this cash per share value as a percentage of the share price when we wrote the article ($46.37), which results in the 108.7% number.

Hope that makes it clear. Let us know if you have any other question.
