I would say that it borders on irresponsible to suggest that RCP-006 may be a possible cure for anything, at this point. It is clear, though, that the compound has noteworthy anti-inflammatory potential.

The "Flint Study" is not an Alzheimer's study: "The trial will examine the effect of RCP-006 on chronic inflammation in individuals who have elevated blood levels of C-reactive protein [CRP]. CRP is a human serum protein that, when elevated, is an indicator of risk for a variety of diseases, and is a known marker for chronic inflammation."

It is hard to disagree that DNDN shareholders may stand to benefit from a little organizational "shake up", as you put it.

As another SA contributor has pointed out today, there is no real internet-fueled investor uprising against Dendreon.

  • Star Scientific: A Struggling Tobacco Company Sitting on a Healthcare Gold Mine? [View article]
From the supplement: "The Prospectus relates to 4,938,270 shares of our common stock that may be offered for resale by the selling stockholders named therein."

The selling stockholders are Hound Partners Offshore Fund LP & Hound Partners LP. It is a separate matter from the reported Roskamp purchase.

  • FDA Insider Trading: Time for an Overhaul? [View article]
One would think that it is obvious that the accused had a 0% chance of losing money, given the information they were privy to. Thank you, though, for stating the obvious.

I did not assume that they were "intelligent biotech speculators", as you put it. I did, however, insinuate that perhaps in the case of MNKD & POZN, the accused bought shares with an initial understanding or belief that the companies' products would be approved by the FDA...

The complaint was just filed and, as stated in my piece, I look forward to watching this story unfold. It should be interesting to see some of the blanks filled in as further details come out...

  • Avanir Pharmaceuticals: Uncovering Nuedexta's Potential Part I [View article]
Quote from Bio Burt regarding Nuedexta on 10/20/10 (nine days before the FDA approval announcement):

"0 chance of approval for drug with death imbalance and trivial indication."

    Good call, Bio Blurt.
