This commentary sounds like a bagholder who is trying to appeal to investors emotions. This is an investing site, not a support group for men with prostate cancer. If the market (via the FDA) said you were wrong, evaluate your investment strategy and move on. But don't twist your failed position into a cause for revolution in the drug development process.

Using Options to Capture Dendreon's Volatility

I don't think this article sufficiently addresses the potential movement after the decision. With over 30% of the shares shorted currently, a straddle is the low risk option because the energy potential. With so much tension on the stock price, whatever the decision, the stock is going to go bonkers. To cover that many shares in such a short period of time the volatility index will increase even beyond what has been seen thus far just to close all of the positions that have been built.

Well written article. I find it quite amusing. It is hilarious to think how many shares are trading hands, how the dissent has taken to guerilla warfare in outside journals, and to see the direct competition from the hedgies on which way the coin will fall. Does not matter to me. If the stock hits $6.50 before May expiration I make money and if the stock hits $31 before July I make money. The rest is just big boy games.

If it gets to $32 I make money, if it goes down to $6 I make money. With 44% short interest, I think there is high probability I will make money no matter what happens.
