This article is six months too late. What the market is saying is not that subprime will the market, the market is saying that prime or subprime, it is an inflated market issue. No matter what loan you use, it will be very hard to make a return on your investment in California, Florida, and many other major economic regions of the country. So I agree with the author but think that the hedgies need to stop to be "smart" about what debt instruments they swoop in on and instead focus on the overpriced assets with minimal upside and when the yield curve will return back to normal.
