A veteran stock market commentator, Marc Davis experienced his "baptism by fire" in this high-stakes business as a floor trader on the frenetic Vancouver Stock Exchange in the 1980s.

He left the business for a few years after the last major stock market crash, known as "Black Monday", in late 1987. During this hiatus, he developed a successful career as a financial journalist.
