Your valuation only counts assets and does not consider liabilities.

My analysis counts only SOME assets and considers SOME liabilities. In the real estate section about $26 million of liabilities were accounted. When you look at total liabilities, you have $82 million of deferred revenues which should really be accounted as assets, not liabilities. On the asset side, if you include the rest of the assets such as accounts receivable, investments, etc, your assets will be higher. Also cash today is higher than what it was during the time of my analysis.

So if you want to count all the liabilities, you also need to count all the assets. When you do that they almost cancel each other out. I say almost because liabilities are a bit higher but not much.

As far as post spin-off dividend on genie, I don't know.

  • Impact Silver: An Undervalued, Growing Company [View article]
You talked a lot about production but what about reserves. What do they look like? How much life is left in their existing mines at the ever increasing production rates you forecast?

At one of 43-101 they have about 7 million ounces in the ground. However this company is different. What I mean by this is that they do not follow the traditional drill to show reserves philosophy. Consequently it is hard to know exactly. With that being said, they have a lot of resources that will last a long time but I can't quantify it.

What are the chances the Mexican gov. penalizes the company (windfall profits taxes, confiscation) if there is a boom in gold/silver prices?

There is always this risk. From what I understand under the current leadership, the risk is low but if someone else gets elected, this risk could change.

You can get 2x leveraged exposure to silver prices with AGQ without having to worry about any company specific issues, plus you get a lot more liquidity. Isn't this a less risky way to leverage a bullish silver outlook?

    I can't argue with this.

For those who are interested in the expenses of HOLL. Here is some info:

Mr. Rubenstein commented, “We will substantially lower our overhead costs following a transition after the close of the transaction commensurate with our reduced scope of operations, and we intend to maintain a low-cost corporate structure primarily as a vehicle to distribute returns to shareholders.

I still have no idea how much the patent portfolio is worth. Since it will be spun out, it will trade at something but I have not idea how much. Anything better than $0 is good.

As far as the Telecom segment, we could have ten people look at it and come up with different valuations. Put your own estimates and decided if purchasing IDT's stock makes sense for you.

Comcast does not provide any information on Fandango. It is just one of many investments. One of the articles stated that Fandango was generating $50 million but I am not sure how reliable this number is. Here are some links to articles that should be beneficial to you:

Guys you are obviously not comfortable with my valuation of MovieTickets.com which is fine. Just move on to a different investment. HOLL is not for you. Or do some work yourself. Look at what Comcast paid for Fandango years ago. Look at what some parties paid for partial interest in MovieTickets.com in the past. Call up some industry experts and you will get an idea of what MovieTickets.com is worth. I am not going to argue about some 50x that is based on an outdated earnings from two years ago.

You are absolutely right that it is difficult to estimate some of these segments. We'll just have to see where the market will price both of the businesses separately. As far as, IBM willing to pay $100M for Fabrix, one of the hedge fund managers shared it on Value Investors Club. However this figure is not confirmed. All I care about is that the management is trying to unlock value by doing the spin-off. Whatever gets unlocked should be better than what were paying for it now.

I know. They have done well for shareholders since they almost went under. There is still more value to unlock and I hope that the spin off will be one of many.

When IDT spun-off CTM Media Holdings, the price of IDT's stock wasn't impacted at all. CTM Media, on the other hand, was a four bagger.
