  • With These Potential Catalysts, Twitter's Next 10% Is Sure To Be Higher [View article]
Looks like the bet paid off. Did not break below $36 and now up more than 10% from when I wrote this. Was not looking good for a few days though.

Not quite 10% down... but am eating crow for sure. I am bullish still, but on trend line break, I'm getting out of the way before earnings next month.

I sold put spreads (38/36) in TWTR today. Short time-frame before earnings next month, but not pumping anything to dump it.

  • Bank Of America Is A Buy After Recent Selloff [View article]
You're right. I've been bullish on BAC for quite some time (first article was in July 2013 when BAC was $13.06). I still see significant upside - though the timing has not aligned with what I thought. Ultimately, I underestimated the Countrywide hangover. That could still be the case, but after last summer's settlement, I don't believe it is.

BAC outperformed the SPY by 3 percentage points last year. Up more than 200% over the past two years. I wouldn't call that nothing.

That it was. But I maintain that the short with the long call was a solid risk/reward - and if you were prone to trading and looked at levels, you could have gone long for a solid bump once it passed above $200 resistance.

They're just piling in the good news before Q4 ends for them this week.

What do you think is the impetus for the move to 1.5-1.7? QE4?

That was a pure disclosure. I did not say that I had just purchased them or recommend that anyone else purchase them. I have preferred calls to going long the stock because volatility is down and ATM spreads can be purchased relatively cheaply.

  • Upside To Yahoo Can't Be Ignored [View article]
I don't know what you mean. This article was published on June 26. And, you commented on June 26 - as you can see in the thread above when you commented that day at 9:26 a.m.

I've written quite a bit on here - some of which were right and some were not. For example, while I have been bullish on certain stocks (HPQ, BAC, YHOO), I saw a correction coming in the market as a whole. That didn't happen.

  • Upside To Yahoo Can't Be Ignored [View article]
This article was written when YHOO was trading below $25 per share nearly six months ago. Obviously, facts change - as they did surrounding Alibaba - so that has to play into consideration. But, I don't think you can diminish this article as not insightful; it called for - and got - a 40%+ gain in the price. Maybe in your world, that's easy to come by. In mine, it's not.

  • BlackBerry Heading Below $7 Per Share Again [View article]
It's not marketing, it's image. It's the reason that people turned away from JCP and Hotmail as an email system. With Q10 and Z10 failing in the market, there's no amount of rebranding that can make that up. And I own a Q10 - and like it. But I can recognize that everyone else doesn't want to give it a chance.

Looks like $4.7 billion is a deal. That's around $9 per share. BBRY can shop around in the mean time, but would owe $0.30 per share if it goes somewhere else... http://onforb.es/16meZuN

Because the comment boards are filled with people holding out "hope." Hope is not an investment thesis.

  • Questions Linger, Making Lululemon A Sell Before Earnings [View article]
Prices down 7% in premarket even though earnings beat. Guidance was revised down.

Looks like you'll get the opportunity to make that "steal" in the low-60s, but I expect prices will continue to move lower with high inventories that could lead to pressure on margins.
