I am a former Equity Research Associate (Canaccord Adams, Toronto) with experience covering both Canadian and US-based life sciences companies. Despite falling victim to the global economic downturn in 2008, I remain interested in covering the life sciences sector with the goal of providing professional analysis and advice for the average investor.
In general, investing in biopharmaceuticals is a high-risk/high-reward venture, and requires careful due diligence. Given the expected changes in reimbursement policy in the U.S., and a tightened focus on drug safety at the FDA, I believe that expert analysis in this space is required now more than ever.
I don't expect that my analysis will always result in financial gain. However, I promise to provide unbiased and educated advice that can either complement or challenge your current view on a particular stock.
Professional Background - why should you listen to me?:
I have a diverse background covering a variety of facets in the biopharmaceutical industry. In particular, I have experience in clinical data management, pharmaceutical advertizing and life sciences equity research. At present, I am managing the portfolio of research and partnerships for a nationally networked organization that supports early-stage research in allergy and asthma. One of my main responsibilities includes analyzing the networks research for IP and commercialization opportunities. I also provide support in the administration of research funds and manage the network's research partnerships.
