Running a managed hosting corporation, consulting to various companies and teaching for the Learning Tree International for the past 20 years, has enabled me to witness some ups and downs in the tech sector. Finding true value in the tech sector and recognizing emerging technologies has been rewarding in the financial markets.
I have a diverse background—as a financial journalist, resident physician, mixed martial artist, painter, entrepreneur, chemistry instructor and web developer—that enabled me to pioneer the “Integrated Investing Research” approach.
I provide consulting to clients, both the retail and professional investors. I accurately forecasted many clinical trials, such as the Flint Trials for Intercept, the Ascend Trials for InterMune and the Affinity Trials MannKind, just to name a few. Through Vincata Enterprises, LLC, I helped many clients to unlock substantial values for their investments.
As an expert in biopharmaceutical analysis, I am also more than capable of analyzing any other industries. Though not shown on Seeking Alpha, I have picked an aggregate basket of outperforming stocks.
Investing in biotech is highly risky, but it can be quite rewarding when investors have an edge in data analysis. Physicians who are rigidly scientific tend to lack the analytical prowess of financial experts. Conversely, financiers usually do not possess a physician’s medical expertise. Likewise, scientists are skillful in data analysis; yet they might not be familiar with a physician’s prescribing patterns, which is a requisite to successful biotech investing.

My name is Payman Winborn. Upon graduation from college in 1999 I founded a company that distributed computer hardware. Although this was a profitable business, I did not want to focus all my resources on one avenue of success, so I looked to diversify my interests. I explored real estate and finance as possible alternative businesses and discovered an interest and passion in futures trading. This is what I ultimately choose as a second source of income.
Initially, I imagined that day trading would be the ideal profession: no customers or staff, no inventory or rent and the possibility of unlimited income. And, more importantly, it presented me with the opportunity to work anywhere....from the privacy of my home or from the balcony of a hotel room overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Unfortunately, I knew little about the pitfalls of day trading for a living. To begin with, I spent countless hours reading books, studying charts and conducting research in an effort to become a profitable trader. Six years later, and after the loss of several hundred thousand dollars, my efforts finally resulted in the development of a highly profitable strategy.
This strategy is primarily based on technical analysis and was developed for ES E-Mini S&P 500 Futures contracts from CME Group but it also works in many other financial instruments such as Stocks (NYSE), Bonds, Currencies(Forex Spot), Commodities (Gold and Crude Oil From CME GROUP,Globex,NYMEX, CBOT,Brent Crud Oil From ICE Global Markets), Options, Global Indices and CFD’s with similar high accuracy.
In retrospect, I understand that the biggest barrier to my success was the fact that I tried to learn everything by myself. An experienced mentor could have helped me avoid that painful learning experience....and saved me a significant amount of money as well as many years of frustration.
Today I am an active, and profitable, trader. As a token of appreciation for my success, I now share my tools and experience with other day traders. I believe that my knowledge and skill can help others become successful traders and, in the summer of 2010, I began to publish my realtime market signals and daily results online in order to demonstrate the accuracy of my trading strategy.
I am Semi-retired as a consultant (40+ years) in the fields of applied Pharmacology/Toxicology and Occupational Health & Safety, dealing with the role of drugs and chemicals in disease pathology and its treatment, complex exposure situations (use of medications, drugs of abuse & addiction and exposure to toxic workplace chemicals), toxicity and drug/chemical interactions and related management challenges.
I am now delving into the investment world for hobby and to increase retirement resources using my own capabilities and the many resources available. I am a novice investor and looking to learn at my pace and with assistance from others. I have strong scientific (pharmacology & health) and analytical training, experience and perspective. I have formal Risk Management training and experience and will use that to guide my investing decisions.
From an investment perspective, I am looking for a combination of stable and proven income generating companies, balanced with managed risk associated with biotechnology equities with large upside potential, ones leading the charge into research and development of ground breaking biological solutions to society' needs. I plan to focus on the biotechnology sector as that is where my strength lies. I look forward to learning from the SA contributors and where appropriate making a contribution with my perspective and views.
