The net tangible assets only recently went negative. Obviously this is not a good sign for the company, but it has happened in the past, and is not permanent. There are decreases in the last two quarters that account for most of the "$1B a quarter" that you talked about, and this looks like a short term fluctuation, not a long term trend to me. There is also an increase in intangible assets over the same time period.
My thesis is, that Dell is unpopular in the tech industry, which should cause some devaluation, but the market has devalued the company too far, and it is now undervalued.
My stance on Dell is not that in the next year it will lead the tech industry and I will make 200%. My stance is that over the next few years, the company will regain some momentum and the price will rise back to a more fair valuation.
