How Far Should Apple Fall in a Post-Jobs World? [View article]
Wow - some surprising px targets... "My guess is to expect a 10% haircut, then some bargain-hunting, which means an opening of $315 and a close of maybe $325." I don't think we'll see these levels anywhere in 2011. Jobs is still at AAPL, he will very much have a hand in what goes into R&D and what comes out of production.
Apple Closes Below Its 200-DMA for First Time in 551 Days [View article]
mattlesnake - you could probably contribute some of the selling in AAPL as a means to raise cash in a period of volatility. Do I believe this is indeed an opportunity?, yes. Is it possible that the breach of a 200 DMA is cause for concern technically?, yes. Underlying all the technical motivation to move this stock lower MUST be fought with straight-up, no-nonse, undeniable fundamentals. Lets face it, it's the fundamentals of this company that keeps you sleeping soundly at night as a shareholder. That & the prospect of even more ingenious products to come.

I now need to re-think the strategy or at least develop another strategy for keeping this short on. I understand that the developments with the kindle are probably adding fuel to this recent fire, but I think it's over-valued at this level.

We're talking about "best of breed" with GS. Sure, we may see a earnings fall short due to IB activity, but only because of where the market is in general. The market for IB is what's hurting GS at this point, not GS themselves.
