Mr. Schuering received his MBA with concentrations in Analytic Finance, Economics, and Finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and also holds and MS from Illinois Institute of Technology. Currently, Mr. Schuering is a commodity options trader on the Chicago Board of Trade where he has been a member and proprietary market maker for over 12 years.

His investing style follows the Fundamental Value Approach, whereby fundamental research is used to uncover stocks that trade at a discount from his calculated fair value. His approach uses the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model to determine a fair value of a company's equity value. He believes that using fundamental analysis allows the investor to more fully understand the underlying economics of the firm.
