Individual investor who has no business venturing beyond mutual funds seeking to make sense of investments I probably never should have gotten into, and maybe even discovering some "gems" along the way.
Retired, 20 year self-directed portfolio. Long term approach to investing. Best Idea: 2010 went from cash and c.d.'s to 100 % stock market, I was called crazy. Best Idea: 2014 average down cost on EMES, HCLP, fracking's sweet heart's, Weak driller out, strong will get bigger, ( think HAL - BHI) sand - sand - sand
I'm a retired Hughes Aircraft / Raytheon corp financial planning & cost accounting manager. I have a USC MBA & a Cal State Northridge Economics undergraduate degree. My very first stock purchase was Pan Am through Charles Schwab in 1982. At the time I viewed myself as a long term investor but sold after 6 weeks because I could not cope with the stress of 100 Pan Am shares with an approximate value of $600 US dollars. I recall calling Scwab 3 to 4 times a day asking for a Pan Am stock quote. How times have changed!!!
