All seems interesting, but how about iBeacons? Technology that will allow for people to walk pass an item on a store shelf and automatically get a notification that the item is now on sale. Also there were rumors that Apple is going work in the field of wireless energy transfer for charging mobile devices.

  • Apple: Filling The Void Through Acquisitions [View article]
Even a few billion dollars here and there are by no means large acquisitions for Apple. The argument is that they should be acquiring small companies that offer disruptive products, or technologies that could help their existing products. Or maybe running a VC fund instead of a hedge fund with investor assets.

  • Apple: The Astonishing Margin On Flash Memory [View article]
I wonder why nobody mentioned anything about the Anobit acquisiton on Jan 6th 2012. The reason they bought the Israeli flash memory company was for this reason; so they can increase their margins in this space. Brilliant move.

Here is an article from TechCrunch going back to Jan. http://tcrn.ch/UY3UHl
