Good point. There are also tons of stores holding huge clearance sales which makes it look like they're just barely hanging on. Not only that, but Landlords are negotiating lower rents to keep strong names in - GameStop is one notable example of this trend.

So weak leasees are going out of business, and strong ones can command lower rents. Probably not a good thing.
