    dougie,

Just curious, why not use options to lock in the gains or generate monthly income instead of trading shares. Selling covered calls, buying puts could be easier and cheaper. ARNA has some interesting option plays for all. Just curious
    Thanks

  • Investing With The Alpha Bulldog - An Interview With Hedge Fund Activist Phillip Goldstein Of Bulldog Investors [View article]
    closedendtrader,

Thanks for the comment. This is my first interview with Mr. Goldstein. I think he and I got along very well and I hope to interview him again in the future if he is interested. His no nonsense approach is great, and his methods are sound. They call his fund Bulldog for a reason. 8-)

Yes, Todd and I speak often and we are very familiar with each others work. I can't tell you how many times we have sit and had lengthy discussions on certain stocks and option trades. His new service is really doing well and his returns are really up there. I have had lots of newsletters but nothing like his. He is just one guy but I have never seen anyone pull off the stuff he is doing. From online education classes to easy to follow option trades and income investments. Let's just say he is real good and his dividend newsletter is still making serious gains compared to the big guys.

  • Stem Cell Revolution: An Interview With Gary Rabin, Chairman And CEO Of Advanced Cell Technology [View article]
    Noreika,

I think what Gary was talking about what that he is not going to wait until the company is out of money. That is what they did in the past under the old management. When that happened they were forced into any deal that came along, which was usually toxic. Some of that still hangs around, but they don't seem like they want to go down that road again. At least that was my take.

    robert goulet,

I wish I could simply just call Gary and ask all the questions I wanted. I was just thankful he gave me the time he did. Remember I'm not the WSJ or major media reporter. I'm just a shareholder looking for some answers. If we get another interview sometime down the road, then I'm sure some of this might come up.

No I do not believe so although each investor much decide for themselves. The RS is needed to get off the penny boards. The science seems to be sound and after the CC it seems that ACTC is doing well in the clinical trials. Still a winner in my book and I am still holding for the long term.

    Thanks

ACTC has proven the science. Now get the bad financial stuff behind them with the dilution and let's see what happens. My bet is that there are 1 or 2 JV's that have already been done. This news has been in ACTC's hand for some time and you can bet they have shared it with potential partners. Time will tell very soon.

  • An Unlikely Winner In The War For Income [View article]
    Jim,

Thanks for the reply. I do not believe that CEFA is correct. NUV does not use leverage but the management company Nuveen does use lots of leverage in other muni CEF's they have like NPP. I believe that CEFA has incorrect data. I used cefconnect.com and they show none. I also went to the Nuveen homepage as well and found no leverage with NUV. Here is the link where they list all their funds and if leveraged is use or not. NUV has none.

A very nice write up. I also own UAN and am happy with that. I think I'll pass on RNF for now until I see a bit more history. Thanks
