Michael Nau

I'm a Ph.D. student in Sociology. In my academic research, I study household finance and financial markets from a sociological perspective, focusing on how power, politics, institutions, social movements, demography, and culture shape the world of finance.

I'm interested in three different investment areas: volatility trading, domestic small caps (especially financials), and asset allocation strategies. My current research and writing focuses on all three. I try to adopt a data driven, value-focused approach to investing that balances analysis with skepticism and common sense.
