I am a finance professional working in private equity, making direct, leveraged buyout investments in privately owned businesses. While I enjoy deal making, my passion is to continue to grow as an investor in both the private and public markets. I seek to use this medium to continue to build my knowledge-base of the public markets and to flesh out investment ideas for my personal portfolio. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maryland with a double major in accounting and finance, along with minor concentrations in economics and entrepreneurship. I also completed a 3-month entrepreneurship program at Stanford University. I am primarily a mid-to-long term investor and believe in using thorough analysis and valuation methodologies to achieve outstanding risk-adjusted returns over a longer time horizon. Throughout my career, I have gained significant experience working in the following areas: -Private equity (leveraged buyouts) -Investment Banking -Corporate finance (General Electric's financial leadership program) -Co-founder of several start-ups My long term career goal is to start my own fund making investments in the private equity, venture capital, or hedge fund space. Note - Additional Disclosure: I work for a private equity fund which makes investments in small, private companies, typically less than $100mm of equity value/market cap. The Compliance Officer at my fund maintains a list of stocks that could materially impact our investments. Therefore, I do not invest in or write about any stocks on that list at the time of writing. As a further check, I am required to submit a list of all stock trades quarterly and keep a record of my full portfolio with the Compliance Officer at my firm, which the SEC has access to at any time.
