Full-time investor searching for talented operators, clean capital structures & scalable growth. No cigar butts or conventional wisdom. My investment philosophy is similar to how I live my life: acquire a few prized possessions at the right price, minimize clutter and maintain flexibility. Twitter: @indievestments
I invest (technically) part-time, but I love the markets and immerse myself in them daily. I enjoy writing about my investment ideas as it helps me to organize my thoughts and I am happy to share if it helps others. I invite criticism as it will help sharpen my ideas, so please tell me where, in your opinion, I am going wrong.
I defined myself as a value investor interested mainly in technology stocks but I also consider biotech, energy, basic materials and companies with a moat.
My strategy is to look for undervalued companies at a fire price with attractive risk/reward.
I tend to invest in short term trading opportunities via options but I also invest my money in long term opportunities to generate dividend income and growth.

I am professionally a real estate lender/investor in mortgage workouts in distress. My edge is an area undiscovered, not easy to move around more than a few million at a time and is largely a fragmented, although after 8 years of stimulus, value is becoming scarce. Recreationally, I am a private pilot, sailor and skier. I speak some Japanese and Spanish and have lived and worked on most continents. I manage friends and family self directed 401K's, IRA's, and HSA's as well as my company investments. About 80% of my net worth is in mortgages or real estate, the remaining is in public exchanges.
I'm a financial auditor that holds a BA in accounting and a MBA. I'm interested in where value can be realized. This could be a small or large cap company selling at favorable EV/EBIT or a special situation/event driven investments. Warren Buffet once said, "You have to turn over a lot of rocks to find those little anomalies" and I hope to do just that.
