    Totally agree, but you're forgetting something very important: gold was indeed in a manic state right around this time last year. That very well could have been the end of the bull market.

    Long, long-term (decades), I love the idea of owning some physical gold. For most investors' purposes, right now, I'd advise against it.

    Ah yes, you have to love those "real" Wall Street analysts. They've always gotten it right.

    As for your rationale, I pretty much picked apart the idea that they have miniscule P/Es, and I'm not sure what "spitting out profits means."

    QE is likely on the way in some form, but its effect on gold will be muted.

    Look I'm as bearish as they come. Gold (in its physical form) makes sense as a way to maintain purchasing power over several decades and will soar if major catastrophe comes.

    That being said, as an investor, betting on global collapses and unlikely hyperinflation isn't a valid method.

    For such a solid company, it has indeed been quite a fall.

    It seems that people misunderstood the cyclical investment cycle, whereas you buy when things are worst, not improved.
