I enjoy investing and analyzing undervalued companies. I have been investing for the last 5 years, primarily in small caps. My primary interests are companies with simple business that generate a lot of cash. I also have worked in the metals & mining industry.
I am professionally a real estate lender/investor in mortgage workouts in distress. My edge is an area undiscovered, not easy to move around more than a few million at a time and is largely a fragmented, although after 8 years of stimulus, value is becoming scarce. Recreationally, I am a private pilot, sailor and skier. I speak some Japanese and Spanish and have lived and worked on most continents. I manage friends and family self directed 401K's, IRA's, and HSA's as well as my company investments. About 80% of my net worth is in mortgages or real estate, the remaining is in public exchanges.
My username means 'fortunate' which reminds me I've to partially count on luck given my lack of finance education. It also refers to the fortunes that can be made in stock markets. The apostrophe prolongs the pronunciation indicating the patience required in investing.
My logo reminds me that I've to focus on numbers rather than wishful thinking. It also tells me to avoid complex math and to look for hidden value like the missing '1' in the logo. The missing '1' also represents 25% gain on $4 investment which is the target to keep in focus.
I've no education or training in finance or accounting. Recently got interested in investing; put my entire liquid net worth in stocks to make it a major undertaking for me. I write to benefit from critique and to expose my mistakes so others can learn.
