they have begun charging FBA merchants higher fees for inactive items and do regular cleanings, etc... so i think they are working on figuring out how to optimize space.
The iPhone 5 (AAPL) launch has once more made iOS the most popular smartphone platform in the U.S, but Europe is a different story. Kantar ComTech believes the iPhone's U.S. smartphone share for the 12 weeks ending Oct. 28 came in at 48.1% - that's up from the year-ago period's 22.4%, and slightly above Android's (GOOG) 46.7%. But in the EU5, the iPhone's share rose only 90 bps Y/Y to 21.2%, while Android's rose 1300 bps to 63.9%. Windows Phone had 4.7% of the EU5 , and 2.7% of the U.S., ahead of the WP8 launches. Samsung GS3 is technologically superior to the iPhone 4 & 5. Sure, if you like iOS and Apple's industrial design there are reasons to buy an iPhone, but based on guts, Apple doesn't win. (There are plenty of other devices that this can be said about as well.)
Rumor has it that the GS4 will have a 1080p screen. Maybe the next iPhone will get another row of apps?

The NYT's Adam Davidson takes a train ride from New York to Washington. Inside, "it's all tidy and digital, everybody absorbed in laptops and iPhones," but outside, "traveling south is like moving through a curated exhibit of urban and industrial decay." Amtrak itself is an extension of the govt/financial wealth - it is certainly not the cheapest method to get between DC and NY. On it you'll find lobbyists/financiers that expense tickets (or just do not care about the expense) - on a Mega or Bolt bus you'll find the working-class people that the author muses about being absent from the inbetween.
