Michael is Chief Investment Strategist for IronGate Investment Management. He is responsible for the development of the firm’s Managed Volatility strategies. As head of the Investment Committee, his duties include development of investment rules and policy, individual strategy components, and collaborating on the strategy methodology with our partner firm Newfound Research. Michael has published a number of white papers on the topic of Managed Volatility.
Michael has more than 20 years of investment management experience. Prior to joining IronGate in June of 2012, he served as Chief Investment Officer at Old North State Wealth Management in North Carolina. During his tenure he also served on the Board of Trustees at the New Hanover Medical Center and sat on the Asset Allocation Committee for the hospital’s pension plan. Michael has extensive experience working directly with high net worth clients at Citigroup Smith Barney and a Multi-Family Office, where his duties as portfolio strategist were evaluation and implementation of liquid alternative investment options. Michael served as an equity analyst for an investment manager in Chicago, which managed $16 billion for institutions, pensions, endowments, and individuals. Michael graduated from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business with his Masters degree in Finance.
Villi Grdovich is a professional investor with a strong interest in fundamental and quantitative financial analysis. An engineer by training, he has 25 years experience in finance, firstly in project finance with an Australian bank, and then as an analyst and portfolio manager with a major fund manager.
His major interest is in providing independent consulting services to the Fund Management industry.
