  • Baidu Eye Vs. Google Glass: A New War Brewing [View article]
    Volver66,

Thanks for the update. Anything released in early April is subjected to high scrutiny. Baidu Eye may never be released, but the point is showing out the new trend for major companies to compete for. On the other hand, it really makes sense for Baidu to consider a product such as Baidu Eye. Yes, it may be another rumor, but it makes sense from product development perspective.

Thank you again for the link and comment! much appreciated.

  • Can Teva's Short-Term Pressure Be Justified? [View article]
    doc47,

TEVA remains one of my long-term holdings, but its short-term concerns needed to be understood for investors. I am leveraging credit put option spreads for the long position and covered call indeed is another great strategy to gain income while hedging for some limited downside.

    Thanks again for your comment.

Good point. GE needs to get ready for that and continues to improve and perhaps to speed up.

  • PepsiCo: $6.4 Billion Is Rewarding For Investors But At What Cost? [View article]
    Sam,

You are right. PepsiCo is diversified with processed and packaged food, such as Frito Lay (as you mentioned). The comparison is done for KO and PEP on fundamental numbers/valuation as two are the most comparable companies in the industry of beverages under consumer (non-cyclical) sector.

Thanks again for pointing this out.

    kinte,

That might be a good idea in the long-term. Right now, GE Capital is a double-edge sword for GE. As long as GE Capital continues to improve, GE will do better. However, in the long-term, GE may want to find a better long-term solution to gain the benefit and remove the risk and your IPO idea may be just one of them. In fact, I think it will be a nice one with limited downside risk as compared to upside risks.

    Thanks again for your comment.

  • Westport Innovations: Improving Earnings And Ready For New Emission Standards [View article]
Steve, Thank you for the comment. In the long-term, WPRT will benefit from the new emission standards and its earnings should improve. It is hard to trade for the short-term, so the short-term technical is used just to help investors find a better entry point for the long-term position. You are right, with high short interest, WPRT may be a good candidate for a short squeeze, but we need a good catalyst.

    go-4-it,

You are doing a great job with your risk/reward and portfolio management. I would sell some stakes if any of my holding grows over 35% too. Yes, some upside potential could be missed, but as a conservative investor aiming for long-term gain, keeping profit, preserving capital, and balancing risk/reward come first.
