What Slowdown? Internet, Cable, Wireless Race is Raging

They are all running faster but standing still. a la alice in wonderland. Faster IP eventually means greater commodification of offerings and greater seperation between pipe and content. The Pipe guys are going to give up the margins, jsut like network TV did, only faster.
The IP utility race will mean margin compression over the next 10 years as speed & QoS become the only differentiators. cheesy bundling of segregated services will only last so long and the content pipes get bigger and more interesting every day.

Who Will Win the Home Entertainment Battle?

Internet protocol wins. The box, vendor etc. will be irrelevant in 5 years time. various fads and phases will show up. In the end it will be just another mega browser. IP uber alles.

Comcast Limits User Downloads: Wrong Solution

The potential threat to comcast "cable business" due to coming IPTV wouldn't be an issue at all. if all IP providers limit bandwidth and then provide limited QoS agreements, people will be forced to keep subscribing to cable packages. The set top box metaphor becomes more dated everyday and the lucrative margins that go along with segmenting VOICE, Video and IP looks more untenable every day. Withing 5-7 years many people will have a Screen with an ethernet jack and won't care whose pipe or package they plug into as long as it provides QoS. Cable companies and Phone companies are tomorrows bit delivery utilities dressed into todays monopolistic and regulatory drag.

works out to renting about 200 movies from netflix or amazon or i-tunes.....hmmm...so if you have a few people in house who watch movies, stream music etc. you can see the problem and the agenda.
