ABOUT
I am a self-directed investor, and former CEO of a $200 million/year enterprise. In researching investment ideas, I look at intermediate and longer term trends. I believe in buying and holding, but also believe in not always following rules, including my own,
While I am not a CFA, my MPA from Harvard included coursework in Public Finance, and numerous courses in economics and analysis. Subsequent work experience includes obtaining, and managing funding for projects of up to $500 million; oversight of strategic management, and overall leadership of the entity. These experiences have given me skills I use every day in looking at investment opportunities--looking for big picture trends, taking note of potential ...More pitfalls, and charting a successful path to increasing returns over time.
Like all portfolio managers, I've had some unexpected learning experiences, or mistakes as they are frequently referred to, but know the risk in the risk/reward equations are real. However, the rewards of risk/reward ventures are also real, and over time taking measured risks offers much better longer term results for investors able to tolerate the risks. I look for value, values, and management as key indicators of what to consider and what to avoid. I also know that none of us is as consistently smart as all of us can be collectively, so appreciate constructive comments and feedback.
