I already owned some TEF, and it has taken a beating on news of a projected 18% dividend decrease, but I added today, it's just too cheap

    • mitrado: Yes, cheap... and the dividend is phenomenal, to investors. I'm no economist, but giving 416% to investors look like a financial suicide!

    • mitrado: But Spain? Damn. Have you take a look at Portugal Telecom? 16% dividend... in theory, you'd return all of your capital in just 6 or 7 years.

    • mitrado: Last time I did that math was just 2 months ago and they just keep on dropping. The perspective of the PSI 20 is to keep the downtrend. :-/

    • Ocean Man: Portugal Telecom is mostly confined to Portugal. TEF is not at all confined to Spain, it's all over, with a huge business in Latin America.

    • Ocean Man: TEF is also a rumored buyout target of China Mobile.
