One Eyed Guide's Blog

One Eyed Guide The One Eyed Guide tries to point out economic trends and events that are low risk "black swans" so the common investor can take advantage.

Generally, these "black swans' are uncovered using fact based interpretations of existing data that have significant expert support but are not the majority opinion.

An example is projecting the 2008 decline in the stock market in 2007 due to P/E deflation combined with declining housing prices - a no-brainer that most stock brokers missed.

Another example is the use of a combined stock and bond portfolio to maximize return and minimize risk during a rising market. At the beginning October 1987, this portfolio was invested 12% stocks, 88% bonds based on relative return probability and was unchanged in value as of October 30, despite the market crash of October 27.
