It will take a while to fully integrate both companies but imagine the market cap and business value of the final organization?

Also, I have to believe Satya Nadella would leave SAP alone for the most part. Integrations would be the major advantage of that asset.

Yeah but that would all change if Microsoft could offer you SAP, Dynamix and SQL Server at seriously discounted rates.

In addition they have all types of single point of contact discounts they could throw in with all the other stuff companies would have in the enterprise.

Hard to say no to MASSIVE discounts.

SAP would be great because they could be acquired and left alone to make a LOT of money.

Microsoft would just have to work on building bridges, interfaces and integrations between both sets of products.

Finally, the combined company would be a juggernaut and would move that MSFT stock price.

You ironically make my point. Because the size of their respective clients is different and there is little overlap (Dynamics vs SAP), it's even more attractive.

Why play with small fish when you can own the enterprise? Microsoft is starting to make big bets (See Surface Pro 3 etc), it's time to go for broke.

    A cash/stock purchase I imagine.

    Microsoft has gobs of both.

    All good questions.

Why would Microsoft settle for a mid-tier presence when they could own both mid and high range ERP clients?

I would also argue that Oracle vs. Microsoft would be GREAT for the ERP space. Real competition where the clients would win.

    Thanks for the comment.

They do brag a lot. I'll have to look deeper into your claims about the rest before responding in depth (if i do).

Yeah Ms Meyer is not a joke.

She's cooking up something. I would bet my house on that. She knows the honeymoon is coming to an end.

There are too many x-files implications to what you are saying.

He's already the richest man in the universe, there is no upside to playing silly games and risking embarrassment.

Bill will do what's best for Bill. He has done enough for the company, they can take it from here...

I think Bill has to do what's good for Bill and not the company. No matter what difficulties are incurred by the outstanding shares, Microsoft is not Twitter.

It's a solid, serious business that will have people willing to invest for quite a while.
