        <![CDATA[<p>Last Friday, S&amp;P 500 (<strong>SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF</strong>: <a href='http://seekingalpha.com/symbol/spy' title='SPDR S&P 500 Trust ETF'>SPY</a>) bounced almost 2.5% to score its best one-day percentage gain since December 2011. The move helped fuel a strong weekly gain, but still wasn't enough to move stocks out of the red for the quarter.</p><p>Another week, another summit, and again a confused market. Ever since Greek financial trouble started to surface in mass media during early 2010, market movements are surrounded by speculations mainly on Euro i.e. what will happen to Euro, Greece etc. Since then, hardly a week goes by when mass media doesn't refer market rallies or pullbacks to "Euro" in one form or the other.</p><p>I think, now, governments have also become smarter and know well how to manage market participants better. Apple has pulled back almost $53 from the high since its latest earning announcement. When a company announces earnings that almost doubled, smashing even the most bullish expectations and the stock was already selling well below the average P/E ratio of the market, how can it continue to fall day after day?</p> <p>We did have a bit of luck with a speculative trade that we opened just almost at the top. But, that was then and it's over now.</p> <p>

Just before lunch on April 30th, MNST spiked sharply due to <a href="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303916904577375900742730404.html?mod=WSJ_hp_LEFTTopStories" rel="nofollow">an M&amp;A rumour</a> that The Coca-Cola Company (<a href='http://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ko' title='The Coca-Cola Company'>KO</a>) was in talks to buy Monster. As a result MNST spiked almost +30% to $83.96 from ~ $64</p> <p>Later, for several hours it then traded around $75 level before giving back all the gains when <a href="http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-04-30/coca-cola-says-it-isn-t-in-talks-to-acquire-monster-beverage" rel="nofollow">Coca-Cola denied discussions</a> to acquire Monster Beverage. During last 10mins of trading, MNST shares dropped to close at $65.
