  • Infosys Opens New Delivery Center To Expand Presence In Latin America

    IT bellwether, Infosys Ltd. has expanded its presence in Latin America with a new delivery center for its business process outsourcing subsidiary, Infosys BPO in San Jose, Costa Rica. More than 100 employees at the center would initially offer key services in the strategic sourcing and procurement area for Proctor & Gamble, the world's largest consumer packaged goods company, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. Infosys plans to expand the center's offerings to better serve its customers and offer innovative sourcing capabilities as a premier global provider of end-to-end solutions, the filing added. The company will soon start offering entire range of BPO services in Costa Rica for its global clients in areas including finance and accounting, HR management, analytics, legal processes, customer relationship services, marketing and supply chain management.

  • Airline Firms To Overtake Energy Cos In Targeting Mobile Consumers: TCS

    IT services giant, Tata Consultancy Services (NYSE:TCS), in its research report, has said that the energy, telecommunications and airline firms are taking the lead in spending to engage consumers via their mobile devices. The New Digital Mobile Consumer global trend report has showed that average expenditure with the companies surveyed in these sectors during 2012 was between USD 27 million to USD 31 million per company, said the company in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. During the year 2012, energy companies spent an average of USD 30.8 million per company in targeting mobile consumers. While telecom industry spent USD 28.6 million, airline companies stood at the third position via an average expenditure of USD 27.2 million per company. However, by the year 2015, airlines are expected to become the highest spending sector with average spending of USD 37 million per company in 2015, followed by telecom industry, the filing added. "The New Digital Mobile Consumer report has shown that most industries simply cannot ignore the relevance of the digital mobile consumer. The criticality of attuning products, content and services to a mobile consumption model is now business critical. We perceive that the firms which best-adapt to this increasingly prevalent and influential audience segment are likely to reap significant dividends," the company said.

  • TCS Joins League Of “Big4” Brand; Adds Over US$ 1 Bn In Brand Value

    IT giant, Tata Consultancy Services(NYSE:TCS), said that it has joined the league of "Big 4" brand and added US$ 1179 million in the brand value over 2012 which is growing by 28.9 per cent annually to reach the US$ 5 billion brand value mark.

    "It has also retained its position among the 'Big4' most valuable IT services brand worldwide in the ranking carried out by Brand Finance, the worlds leading brand valuation firm," the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

    Moreover, the company has been investing huge amounts to build up its brand presence worldwide through a full range of award winning activities, added the filing.
