Thanks U.P., the spell checker doesn't always pick up Spanish misspellings... :)

In our opinion, even if it takes you 6-12 months to reallocate your capital, you will still come out way ahead in the long-run...

Well said, Rick. In our opinion, dividend investors should focus more on portfolio income and less on the income generated by a specific stock. This will give you the flexibility to strategically take some profits.

Be Here Now - Excellent catch. Our formula for 5-yr Div CAGR pulls the 5-year CAGR as of the latest twelve month (LTM) period (9/30/13), which for MCD should be 15.48%. That said, MCD paid its dividends annually prior to 2008, which caused the error in this calculation (because there were no quarterly dividends to pull from).

13.86% is the correct calculation for the 5-year CAGR (as of the latest fiscal year - 12/31/12).

So in summary...our MCD table above should say 15.5% (not 6%) for the 5-year Div CAGR.

    Hope this helps.

We are waiting for a lower buy in too!! But this is a perfect example of why it makes sense to buy in stages. If we only get 5% pullback from here, some of these stocks may not even pull back below our current cost basis. If they do, we'll buy some more!

Agreed, David! Buying great stocks at good prices (valuations) is a key to long-term success. Kuddos to you on the $48 cost basis! We also "willingly" bought WMT about a year ago around $68 for the model portfolio and we haven't lost a minute of sleep over it...
