  • Vringo Reexamination Update [View article]
    @ IP Hawk

    "Is a $15M award good/bad? I do not know"

    Here's your answer:

Wi-Lan just settled 2 cases with HTC and Alcatel Lucent. Wi-Lan has about a 118mm share float and their stock rises 20 cents. But that's 2 settlements on 3g and 4g wireless on laptops, pads and smartphones.

Back to what I have been saying before. The GOOG deal while impacting, is just not going to placate investors looking for NEW billions. Neither is ADT nor ZTE.

Agreed. Investor interest has been muted as most see VRingo's prospects declining. This will continue unless a catalyst reignites the base. As I explained to a blogger yesterday a $30 million lawsuit can take the same amount of time as a billion dollar lawsuit. VRingo must pursue larger goals to inspire shareholder increased long term perceived value. Vringo needs a billion dollar lawsuit. I suspect the Microsoft Patents will give it to them.

I hate to break the news to you, but a $20 million dollar lawsuit can take just as long as a $1 billion dollar lawsuit, sometimes longer.

Worlds litigation is completely financed by Susman Godfrey (their Attorneys). CEO Kidrin gave back the bulk of the "shark" financing that was provided voluntarily, no doubt as a result of Chardan Capital proposing a better deal.

Personally if I'm going to wait 3 years I'd rather be looking at a Billion dollar payoff than a 20 million dollar payoff, alas to each his own.

Your comments suggest a massive drop in share price, from what most would consider a baseless untested one sided Google opinion.

Though the reports are due, I would expect Google to push that out. At least file a request to do so. Granted whatever is filed will have a delayed tactic in tow, all by planned design.

If they provided the information timely, I'm certain it will contain just enough ambiguity to aid in their plea on the appeal.

Big question is how Judge Jackson responds...which I think may be an extension of time.

WILN is a well run PAE and is an example of how Wallstreet only offers limited reward. If you don't offer billion dollar potential you don't get rewarded.

I hold stock in VRingo and Worlds and I have openly disclosed that. Like many that purchased VRingo I believe in the tech. Like many I bought VRingo for billion dollar potential, not the almost non exist ant revenues or the operational losses, inflated salaries. I suspect you purchased VRingo for the same reason.

In light of this you must also be aware that the ADT lawsuit realistic top out is 65% of 20-30 mm. I think we can both agree that high risk investors buy the potential not the balance sheet.

This is why ADT did not move the pps and further why VRingo needs Worlds. VRingo needs a Billion dollar play not another 1 million dollar settlement. Or is that concept beyond your reasoning?

    @Patent News

No question that DSS has some very good possibilities and October 2 will mark the start of the Markman. Possibly 30 days after a decision on FB and the 2 remaining defendants. Not a bad idea to pick some up now, pending the Judges decision.

Still believe Worlds is positioned well to cash in large. Really just the patents and the lawyers here, no other business, makes it more of a pure play in my opinion. Yet I will hear comments over and over again that because they don't have 5 million in salaries and a Park Avenue address its not a viable patent play. Really is amazing that some folks can't see the "patents thru the trees".

That's what we are investing in, "Patents and Attorney Talent". Worlds has both, minus a huge monthly cash draining machine.

  • Microsoft's Xbox Can Dethrone Google [View article]
Sony has its hands into everything. However I believe Microsoft's tie in with the Mega digital game providers will grow. It wont be long before the game producers cross over to Hollywood in producing their own movies. The 300 movie had over 1500 scenes filmed behind a "blue screen". Wont be long before entire movies are filmed that way.

I absolutely agree. This form of interactive advertising will dominate in the future.

    @IP Hawk

Your correct WDDD does have lottery styled returns or billion dollar potential, just as Vringo has billion dollar potential.

Investors have shown zero interest in rewarding Vringo for ADT, ZTE or for potentially a 7% return on Google. Yet your advice is to continue on this track for similar results?

Worlds does not need Vringo, Vringo needs Worlds. Lets not forget the lawyers earn the capital in PAE lawsuits. National firm Susman Godfrey is doing this on contingency. A strong Markman on a patent that will "blanket" an industry, at its core, is the compelling story here. Not 35% of maybe $30 million off ADT.

Clearly with that logic Ken Lang would have never paid a few million for a dead ad patent from a defunct search engine known as Lyco's.

It's all about timing, agreed? The Worlds Markman Hearing may end up being much sooner than 2014 as Worlds has asked the presiding Judge to advance the date. Arguments put forth that all parties were ready prior to the Bulger delay.

Will the stock cap increase after the MSJ gets thrown out? I suspect so. Therefore it may never be a better time for VRingo to consider Worlds.

  • Institutions Are Buying Millions Of Shares Of Vringo, Should You? [View article]

Vringo is indeed a "Patent troll" or Patent Assertion Enterprise.

"Vringo a company engaged in the innovation, development and monetization of intellectual property and mobile technologies."

While Vringo (I/P engine) purchased the Patents and the rights from the defunct Lycos entity, Vringo never actively used them as a PE. Therefore the claim Patent Troll is technically correct, regardless of the fact that Vringo can pursue Google for past infringement , as result of the transferred Lycos rights.

  • Vringo's Timeline Vs. Obama's Patent Troll Plan [View article]
Patent reform is the last thing on this Presidents mind. Moreover his handling of Syria has burned every last bit of political capital to his name.

Uncasting his image of being an inept foreign policy buffoon is job 1 for POTUS now.

  • Vringo: Do You Want To Make Money From Lawsuits? [View article]

Your estimations assume near zero growth in Google's core product. Many authors have covered this in detail in prior articles. At 7%, assuming past growth as a future measure, the overall royalty due would exceed $1.3 billion US.

Considering that the USPTO has already ruled in Vringo's favor on the 420 patent, it becomes less of a factor in regards to the eventual Royalty that will be paid.
