Paul Castro

It's been an interesting ride for Paul Castro, beginning with the United States Navy, and continuing as a big-time money manager. Castro earned his stripes making tough calls on behalf of investors as associate portfolio manager at Buehler Capital Management. Paul assisted in the oversight of $80 million of assets for wealthy clients, as well as institutions. Employing an advanced proprietary investment model - which he was instrumental in developing - Paul skillfully selected suitable investment choices for both groups. Paul enjoyed working on this model and other research projects so much it inspired him to develop the Positive Trend Equity Strategy that he employs to this day. Paul has actually been doling out advice for years, including a stint as a senior finance and strategic analyst for technology giant Intel. He advised general managers and financial controllers of multi-billion dollar business units that were as big as mid-sized companies. And, before that, Paul analyzed business for Arch Chemicals, a global Biocides firm with nearly $1.5 billion in annual sales. But it all began for Paul in the Navy, where he learned how to make hard decisions. He served three years as an engineering officer programs recruiter, and four years as an F-14 radar intercept officer. That's right, Paul was the real-life 'Goose' of 'Top Gun' fame. Bet there's not too many portfolio managers who can say that. Bet there are even fewer who put up Paul's numbers. Preferring to receive his college education on terra firma, Paul received his B.S. in finance with honors and his M.B.A. from sun-drenched Arizona State University. Paul is also a proud, card-carrying CFA Charterholder.
