  • Should You Buy Apple Before The Consumer Electronics Show? [View article]
Thank you for the comment. Apple did inteed have a both at CES in the early '90s. As I mentioned CES is growing less important as more companies follow the "Apple model" but it is still a very important early indicator for the industry in the year ahead.

  • Should You Buy Apple Before The Consumer Electronics Show? [View article]
Thank you for the comment. I mentioned that "Apple is able to hold its own major announcements for any of their products". The headline refers to the competitors that will be presenting.

  • Electronic Arts: The Turnaround Is At Hand For This Fallen Angel - Buy On Headline Weakness [View article]
"Madden: Madden shipped 5.3M units in FY 12 after shipping 7.8M, 7.4M and 6.5M units in FY 09, 10 and 11. Madden 13, after ten weeks of sales, however, was tracking 16% higher than Madden 12. This puts the latest iteration on track for 6M units, reversing a downward trend of several years."

I do not follow your logic. Are you stating the Madden will have 6M units sold in FY 12, which is an improvement on the 6.5M sold in FY 11?

  • Are These Weekly Ex-Dividend Stocks Naughty Or Nice? [View article]
Thanks for the comment Doug. I like your articles, especially the Chevron one (I took profits around that time).

PSEC has been executing its strategy diligently for quite a few years with minimal hiccups, which is an impressive record in the industry given the economy.

AWF missed the screener criterion of 15% insitutional ownership. Per finviz.com, the institutional ownership is ~8%.

    Merry Christmas!

Thank you for the comment Shawn G. Happy Holidays!

The most recent information I was able to find dates back to 2010 where 71.38% of the dividend was taxable (28.62% return of capital) and 9.32% was qualified (thus 90.68%) non-qualified. Despite this information, I suspect that there could be a sell-off of all high dividend names initially as the cliff approaches.

Great article as always TJ. Short and to the point.

I wanted to point out a typo in point 1:

"The stock, as of September 7th, closed at $12.96." This was the closing price on December 7th.

  • Will VF Corporation Deliver Deckers Shareholders A Lump Of Coal? [View article]
Thanks for the comment. I believe this stat was pulled from a 2011 financial report - perhaps they have a different definition of "stores" as I did notice on the website that they do have more concept stores, retail stores, and authorized resellers. I will do some additional research.

Very solid article Bill. The thesis is so simple that I am surprised more investors do not come to the same conclusion.
