  • Look to Invest in Intuit [View article]
Both SAGE and Microsoft has been very busy and aggressive in the tier 3 (small companies) and tier 2 (mid size companies) ... and is giving Intuit a run and very good competition!

Sage has multiple ERP solutions and so does Microsoft. Both of these companies have acquired numerous ERP software companies.

How much longer can Intuit go it alone? Do we think that they will be acquired? Do they want to be acquired??? Thoughts?

FREE diluted their shares with a huge 2nd offering just a short while ago. I am avoiding FREE..... The "dry bulks" appear to be a better play for know... as China & others are buying bulk materials like crazy!

  • All Aboard - The GlobalScape Train Is Departing Now [View article]
Conference call tommorrow will be very insightful, as the good news CONTINUES. They have built new products, partnered with NuBridges for additional products, and on the Yahoo message board there was a message by Magnum about a Navy deal. Should be very, very, very good news at the conference call.

  • Invest in Prospect Capital Corporation's High Dividend [View article]
One really has to UNDERSTAND which companies that this company is investing in and see if you are confident that these companies are solid, growing, and can continue to contribute to the high dividend that PSEC is paying. ANOTHER way to play PSEC is to catch the ups and downs of it - about a 25% variance each quarter. Also - With the additional shares now... we will have to wait and see about NEXT quarter's dividend (staying the same or slight decrease).

  • 20 Stocks Primed for a Templeton? [View article]
Good article. Please do this type of analysis every 3 months and publish it. GlobalScape is worthy of being on this list.... Check out how much it has appreciated over the time period since this article appeared. (due to company events, new contract, no long term debt, etc. etc... the company is doing very very very well !)

  • Ford (F) Chairman calls for higher gas prices: "We clearly need - whether it's a gasoline tax or cap and trade, it's something we do need because with gasoline at $2 [a gallon], customer behaviour is not driving in the direction that the government would like." Weird, but nothing new.  [View news story]
Why would the Ford chairman make such a remark (calling for higher gas prices)? NOT a smart comment!

  • Due Diligence on Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Tools [View article]
The "magic quandrant" has been criticized as well as liked for years. Personally, I would rather see the details on each solution, summarized, showing where the solution is weak & strong. ALL solutions have great points as well as weak areas. Even the best ones!

  • Ford a Likely Survivor of the Auto Industry Crisis [View article]
WHY did the executives WAIT so long before making ANY MAJOR changes? SOW (Same Old Ways) for TOO MANY years!!!

CROP (Consumer Reports Outstanding Products) year after year ... on high quality, low maintenance models .... IGNORED... by SOW .... since the CROP highlighted JAPANESE (Toyota, Honda, Mazda... ) cars as the ones that were more reliable!

So CROP on BIG 3 SOW executives... In another words, the WAKE UP call has sounded and our American BIG 3 SOW executives are ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL and have crashed... 2.5 crashes looks like!

  • Detroit's Biggest Failure: Losing the Youth Market [View article]
When will the Ford Feista arrive for sale in the good old USA? Seems that Ford is a bit slow on delivering - we could have used it during the high gas prices in 2007 and 2008.

After reading everyones opinions on the UAW, it is obvious that the "per hour" cost of building cars is higher for GM/Chrysler/Ford - so why blame the UAW for protecting it's members (just doing it's job). The real problem is GM/Chrysler/Ford management for permitting the UAW to obtain the stranglehold tha it has. Unfortunately, the bull dog UAW does NOT want to release it's very tight grip. Stalemate = high costs to build a US car continues.

Quality? Look at Consumers Reports for the last 12 years in the April car issue - the Japanese car manufacturers have consistently manufactured higher car quality that we have. Did Ford/GM/Chrysler managment and executives sleep and fail to analyze these April issues? Maybe, they were sleeping in their private jets on the way to DC, or just planned another car sale (same strategy = sell more at discounted prices).

Problems will continue at all three, until they address (1) fuel efficient cars to meet/beat the Jap cars, (2) higher quality = lower $$$ spent on maintenance by owners, and (3) UAW costs. Multiple problems have to be addressed by these executives or b-u-s-t (chapter 11).
