  • Mawson Resources Shares Enjoy 'Bonanza Grade' Gold Find [View article]
I am a bit perplexed by Jaunie's comments.

Mawson purchased all of Areva’s Finnish exploration assets (exploration claims and claim applications) earlier this year for about 10% equity in Mawson.

You can check Finnish claims online at I used Google Chrome to get around the Finnish to a large degree.

If you zoom west of Rovaniemi you will see Mawson has a landholding of valid Claim Reservations (Valtausvaraukset) and Claim Applications (Valtaushakemukset) on this official government site.

Mawson also state on their website: “Being a new discovery the Rompas project is secured by claim applications. Drilling and trenching will be permitted on the granting of exploration claims. The granting of claims in Finland is currently slow and Mawson is working with the Finnish authorities to facilitate this process in the shortest possible time.”

It appears that Mawson are going through a normal process from claim reservation, claim application to claim.

didn't miss them, just didn't have room to cover all markets. We were most interested in recent moves in Germany in Spain, and on the flip side current US adminstrations ambition to push cleantech sector harder.

  • How Likely Is a BP Takeover Bid? [View article]
Probably correct, but we felt it was worth examing the possibility nonetheless. BP is in a right mess, and one has to imagine its peer group are watching the situation very closely for a number of reasons...

  • How Likely Is a BP Takeover Bid? [View article]
Good point, unfortunately the author of the article wasn't in a position to cover every angle, and it was decided the key thrust would be on the JP Morgan note's theory of a bidder, and the implications that would potentially have on UK centric funds, pensioners etc.
