Part time investor part time consultant. Recently left corporate life due to my company being acquired. Trying to build nest egg including biotech investing with about 25% of portfolio. Not a day trader, occasional swing trader. I find Seeking Alpha quite informative as a resource (especially the comments and stock talks) and I am learning much about biotech investing in general - I find it interesting and very treacherous at the same time! I have already made the common rookie mistakes - chasing and being too optimistic for example. But it is fun looking for mis-priced opportunities particularly in thinly traded micro caps. Significant reward is possible if you can tolerate the risk.
Aside from biotech - which I currently find the most interesting, I am also invested in BDCs, REITs, tech stocks, precious metals, mutual funds and commercial real estate.
I invest (technically) part-time, but I love the markets and immerse myself in them daily. I enjoy writing about my investment ideas as it helps me to organize my thoughts and I am happy to share if it helps others. I invite criticism as it will help sharpen my ideas, so please tell me where, in your opinion, I am going wrong.
