Born In India, moved to USA for pursuing my PhD in 2001. Went to University of Nebraska-Lincoln, alma mater of the oracle, Warren Buffet. Worked as a University teacher after graduation for couple of years before moving to Canada. A chemist by profession with an affinity for finance and investing. Have been investing since 2005 but without any particular strategy. 2008-09 great recession was a great learning experience. Didn't get burnt but missed the great opportunity to invest in dividend growth stocks. Dividend growth investing suits my personality and goals but I do trade options, albeit conservatively. Sell naked puts to get a better cost basis ONLY ON stocks I want to own. Sometimes do covered calls on stocks I feel over valued and want to sell. Would like to retire in 20 years and go back to teaching part time and travel in dividends. Have about 20 years so compounding and time are great friends to help me get there.
