  • A New Accuray Starts To Emerge [View article]
While ARAY may experience a short-term trading bounce, the long-term prospects remain tough.

Cyberknife's technology/treatment efficacy benefits have been recognized for some time -- already installed in many leading hospitals. Despite this many physicians still view Cyberknife as a machine that serves a niche market, and as result is just one of many treatment options in their toolbox (as article also mentions).

Without more procedures it's very hard for most facilities to justify the cost.

I hesitate to read too much into this, as Apple has continued to diversify its supplier base.

Also, regarding CRUS: for the December 2012 quarter sales were up 153 percent and for the March 2013 quarter sales are expected to be up 87 percent. Clearly Apple products do not have such growth rates. All this tells me is that CRUS's growth rate is slowing, but it doesn't tell me that Apple's 10-20% annual sales growth rate is in jeopardy.

Yes, hopefully I've communicated that if you take away the negative sentiment and look objectively, the scenario is not so conclusively gloomy. Fortunately for apple shareholders, given the recent carnage, achieving the high end shouldn't be necessary for the stock to go up.

Shouldn't be difficult to keep drilling operations going. Drill, extract and sell. The problem is the strategic planning at the top, not what is going on below that. Drilling a well is not going to change.

I don't think many investors realize that Oklahoma City is a huge energy hub. It's only getting bigger and bigger, and most of the major domestic producers have presence there. Devon Energy, Continental Resources (big Bakken producer) and Chesapeake are also headquartered there.

  • Apple Fever: Time To Buy Despite Multi-Year Uptrend? [View article]
This is article regarding manufacturing is pointless and an unfair shot at Apple.

Foxconn/Hon Hai is a Taiwanese company that manufactures for all the large hardware companies. To single out Apple is ridiculous.

Foxconn's customers also include Acer, Amazon Kindle, Cisco, Dell, HPQ, Microsoft Xbox, Motorola, Nintendo, Nokia, Samsung, Sony, Vizio to name a few. They all benefit from whatever low wages Foxconn pays.

  • Special Dividend: The Solution To Apple's High Class Problem [View article]
Given AAPL's huge weight in the indexes, I think all pension funds already own it. But APPL's huge weight is another issue in itself.

  • Special Dividend: The Solution To Apple's High Class Problem [View article]
All pension funds are likely already invested in Apple given its huge weight in the indexes. I think the index weights should be adjusted, but that's another topic.

  • JP Morgan Healthcare Conference 2012: Insights From Jamie Dimon [View article]
I do agree with you that IT alone will not fix increasing costs. However, one could write a book on healthcare reform. In an article I believe it is best to choose an area of concentration. This article is meant to highlight one aspect that has grabbed investors' attention, as reflected by the very strong stock prices of health IT stocks. Plus, I was able to acquire good information presented by the health IT panel at the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference.
