  • Grandaddy of Fuel Cells Is Suddenly Hip [View article]
Your conversation runs like this...if it's not American, it's not worth investing in...Any discussion about Fuel Cells that leaves out Ballard Power Systems of Vancouver, the real "Grand Daddy" of the fuel cell industry, is incomplete. Indeed, three fuel cell companies in the US are often referred to as "Baby Ballards".

They have a new contract with India to build 10,000 units for that country's wireless system, have partnered with a European company to provide product to the Eurozone and they have inroads in China and the USA markets.

Their ability to build giant fuel cell stacks to power communities, run on natural gas, also cannot be understated, and their PEM cells produce little or no heat. Have I mentioned the fuel cell bus fleet they recently built for the city of Vancouver, or the buses in California, Chicago and London?

In the discussion on fuel cells, you surely left out a big one...

Fixing a tremendous credit crisis with more credit, is always a recipe for disaster.....it is a matter of when, not if, for the USA. Every portfolio should hold at least some gold....in the event the beast gets loose....retirefund.blogspot.co...

  • Parity for the U.S., Canadian Dollars [View article]
In Jan 2009, when the Canada buck was trading at .77 cents to the usd, I encouraged my readers to sell their usd holdings back into Loonies and then "Hold on to their Loonies"!....Last month as it traded at .94 cents to the usd, I again suggested to my readers to hold on to their Loonies!.....I believe it may hit $1.05 by the end of this year....Hope I'm right the third time......retirefund.blogspot.co...

  • Apple vs. Research in Motion: Which Stock Is a Better Buy? [View article]
Many AAPL investors are U.S. focused to the point of being somewhat blinded. RIMM has a bigger foothold in China, where growth prospects far outweigh those in the US (or anywhere in the short term). I like both companies, but RIMM is undervalued right now.
I'll be staying away from Apple in the short term. History shows that after a great launch, smart investors sell into the news. Add to that, a CEO with major medical problems. When Steve Jobs passes on, Apple will drop like a stone. Apple is, and will remain, a great company. That will be the buying opportunity for AAPL !

  • An Unauthorized iPad Review [View article]
I'll be staying away from Apple in the short term. History shows that after a great launch, smart investors sell into the news. Add to that the "finate" reality of all of our lives, and especially a CEO with major medical problems. When Steve Jobs passes on, Apple will drop like a stone. Apple is, and will remain, a great company. That will be the buying opportunity!

  • Ford (F) has gotten a lot of positive ink for how it's navigated the crisis, but Matthew DeBord says it has to be said: That the automaker's all but giving away Volvo for $1.8B (after paying $6.45B while assembling its "Premium Automotive Group") means Ford destroyed Volvo's massive brand value.  [View news story]
In the rear view mirror, the term "overpaid" sometimes looks like "bargain" but that won't be known for years. What is know is that some of the bit players on the fringe of Ford are doing very well.....retirefund.blogspot.co...

  • Ford's EV Partners: Smith Out, Azure In [View article]
Ford is a great story this year, but for me, the real story here is AZD.
Azure Dynamics has placed itself directly in the sweet spot of the Hybrid and EV industries. It has technology on the road, fully tested, and 20 years of development under it's belt since starting out as a research project at UBC circa 1990.

I think that penny stock is a bombshell. That is why I bought some last week, and continue to buy on the dips.

Maybe this, maybe that. Could be this, could be that. Is there any comment from Dougie that actually says what he "believes" will happen? He didn't beat around the bush when he called the bottom (a great call) so why now?

  • Wednesday's Worries: Wall Street, Greece and China [View article]
While I enjoy your slant on the markets, and you make some very good points, I have to go back two years when it was generally accepted that "cash is king". If cash is still king now, then where are we going? If you are indeed right about the markets craziness, then maybe gold is king! or food is king ! or water is king!

  • How to Turn $25,000 Into $3.2 Million [View article]
Sorry. Can't bite on this one! Too much upside in natty gas, lithium, co2 to fuel, fuel cells, wind etc etc. This is so far down the list that it just doesn't exist for me. I don't mind penny stocks, as long as they have real and probable upside. Not into p and d.
