Ricardo Cabral » Profile

Ricardo Cabral is a college professor and the department chair of the Department of Business and Economics at the University of Madeira, Portugal. He is also a consultant to the European Commission IST and eTEN research programmes. He is interested in industrial economics, financial markets, and monetary policy/central banking. He has written previously on the 2007 banking sector crisis.

Prior to his current position, he was a project manager for Siemens AG for several years, based in Germany. In the past, he was also a consultant to the World Bank for a Brazil based project. Ricardo Cabral holds a PhD in Economics from the University of South Carolina, USA, and an Engineering degree from the Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal.
