I am a simple individual investor who believes that the playing field is level, but may require active management of one's holdings.
I've devised a series of steps that constitute a highly defined covered option strategy that most anyone can follow and that I've described in Option to Profit (2011).
Having retired from a career in Pediatric Dentistry, approximately 10 years ahead of schedule, after spending the previous 10 years working just 2 days each week, I now spend my time trading and alerting others of trading opportunities in large cap positions through the Option to Profit subscription service, a premium subscription service that provides actionable Trading Alerts via text messaging or e-mail at www.optiontoprofit.com. as well as a Web site access only subscription plan.
The Option to Profit subscription service is now in its 4th year.
Now, the Web Access subscription plan is available through Seeking Alpha's "Marketplace." A listing of those articles can be found at https://seekingalpha.com/account/research/subscribe?slug=george-acs
The subscription through Seeking Alpha also includes access to the full Option to Profit web mirror site at http://sa.optiontoprofit.com.
I want you to join me in making your stock portfolio improve the quality of your life. Whatever stage of life you are in, you can make your stocks improve that quality by putting them to work for you.

Kathleen M. Wailes is a Senior Strategist at LEVICK and previously led its Financial Communications Practice. She has extensive executive experience in corporate communications, investor relations, and transaction communications. Throughout her engagements, Ms. Wailes has facilitated successful deal completion and value enhancement for diverse organizations.
Ms. Wailes has provided strategic communications and investor relations counsel to numerous defense and government contracting clients. In addition to her consulting experience, Ms. Wailes served as chief communications officer for Legg Mason, Inc., Litton Industries, Inc., The Penn Central Corporation, and St. Joe Minerals Corporation. As vice president, corporate communications and investor relations for Litton Industries, a global $5 billion defense and technology company headquartered in Los Angeles, she had worldwide responsibility for all communications and investor relations. Litton’s spokesperson to the investment community, she led a valuation improvement initiative that helped increase the company's market value by more than 100 percent during a period of industry consolidation and declining defense budgets.
Ms. Wailes was also a member of the Litton finance team that raised $700 million in the public debt markets to finance acquisitions. She repositioned the company following the spin-off of its commercial operations, and led a re-branding campaign as it diversified into information technology, while managing communications for several significant acquisitions.
After a Penn Central Corporation proxy fight during which she led communications, management successfully repelled a dissident group challenge. She subsequently repositioned the company among investors and the public during an asset redeployment program, with a resultant doubling of the stock price.
Previously, Ms. Wailes helped triple the stock price of St. Joe Minerals Corporation by expanding its stockholder base in the United States and Europe. She led communications for St. Joe during a hostile takeover attempt by Seagram, followed by a friendly merger with Fluor Corporation.
Ms. Wailes is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute, and served in 2005 as the chairperson of the Financial Executives Networking Group's Investor Relations special interest group.
LEVICK clients trust Ms. Wailes to manage sensitive investor communications around proxy votes, and mergers and acquisitions. She helps companies – from the Fortune 500 to promising start-ups – to articulate transparency, accountability, and value in the markedly contentious post-Dodd-Frank environment.
Founded in 1990, TrimTabs Investment Research is the leading independent institutional research firm focused on the supply and demand of shares of stock and the money available for investment. Our key premise – which we term Liquidity Theory – is that stock prices are a function of liquidity rather than value. Like the prices of any tradable good, the prices of stocks are driven primarily by supply and demand.
Unlike most quantitative stock-evaluation models, which focus on easily available price, volume, and earnings data, Liquidity Theory insights depend on detailed data on asset flows and how they shift over time. Since data on the supply and demand for stocks is scattered across so many sources, most strategies ignore stock market liquidity altogether.
By maintaining detailed quantitative models that track key areas of market liquidity and changes in the supply and demand for equities and equity-like vehicles, TrimTabs provides our clients with comprehensive real-time analysis of all aspects of equity-market liquidity.
On the supply side, we measure changes in the float of shares by aggregating corporate actions. On the demand side, we track the money moving into and out of the stock market by measuring the flows into and out of mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and hedge funds. To obtain an early edge on future liquidity trends, our Real Time Macro research focuses on real-time measures of consumer income and employment. I'm the lead investment research analyst for income and dividend investing at Investors Alley, an independent investment research service. My primary role is editor of several investment advisories bringing deep dive research and actionable income and dividend investment recommendations to investors. These advisories include The Dividend Hunter, 30 Day Dividends, and Tax-Smart Income Hunter.
Prior to joining Investors Alley, I was a stock broker, a Certified Financial Planner, and an F-16 fighter pilot and flight instructor with the United States Air Force. In addition to my primary duty of flying the F-16 to defend our nation's skies I was an instructor in the F-16 Flying Falcon as well as the OV-10 Bronco. During my time in the service I was stationed at various military locations in including Osan AB, Korea, Patrick AFB, Florida, and Nellis AFB in Las Vegas. I graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in mathematics.
It was during those years when I was a Certified Financial Planner and helping families and individuals plan their finances and make wise investment decisions that found my second passion in life: investment research. (Flying was and still is my first.)
My area of specialty is evaluating income generating investments to find the combination of sustainable and growing dividends, special dividend opportunities, and share price appreciation driven by management's commitment to dividend growth. I have a particular emphasis on master limited partnerships, business development corporations, and real estate investment trusts.
I've previously written for USA Today, The Motley Fool, eHow, SFGate, Chron.com, Wikinvest.com, Moneynews.com, iStockAnalyst, among others, and have contributed vast firsthand research to a major provider of data on master limited partnerships, another area of extreme interest to me. Along with my duties with Investors Alley I'm a regular contributor to Seeking Alpha.
In addition to the articles posted here on Seeking Alpha you can find my investment analysis on the Investors Alley website and the weekly newsletter, The Market Cap.

I have been trading since I was twelve years old, when my Grandfather gave me a sum of money to invest in stocks. Since then, I have been trading frequently, keeping some stocks for short periods (weeks), and some for long periods (years). I am very Bullish on Natural Gas in the United States for the transition period between fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. I believe strongly that in the next 25-30 years water desalinization plants will because widely used.

As a contributor to the New Low Observer (http://www.newlowobserver.com/about-this-site), we intend to give new insights on a low risk approach to trading in dividend paying stocks for tax deferred accounts. The New Low Observer (http://www.newlowobserver.com/about-this-site) is not intended for regular or non-qualifying accounts however, the strategies and stocks mentioned can be used for non-qualifying accounts with the understanding of the consequences of potential short-term capital gains as well as the need for exceptional documentation for IRS purposes.
I have a professional background of working with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Bear Stearns, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Although I am an economist (and probably because of that fact), I am adept at being resourceful and thinking in a multidisciplinary fashion. For this reason, my professional experience only reflects a wide perspective that I have gained through the years and should not connote an air of authority.

Retiree interested in stocks and financial instruments, especially dividend producing stocks. In the 20th century, I was an electrical engineer with Dominion Resources. I use a dividend growth investment style. Quick rules of thumb for complex questions, like fair value p/e using the Gordon model, price = growth and total liabilities/total assets ratio for leverage calculations provide a starting point for my investment decisions. As a retiree, preservation of capital is paramount.
