  • GLD: Why Shouldn't It Drop Further? [View article]
phenix: "When these things change for the better then maybe we can talk about 'strong labor markets'. All imho."

It should be remembered that labor markets must be viewed comparatively, this is what drives the relative value of the US Dollar. You can refer to my previous articles on the Euro outlook for assessments there.

  • The Effect Of Monetary Policy On Gold Prices [View article]
Author wrote: "If on Thursday the ECB do reduce rates, then the Euro could fall exerting upward pressure on the dollar which would be negative for gold."

This is a huge stretch. The ECB rate decision will have little to no impact on the real trend.

This is a technical analysis article. It has always been my understanding that these are not allowed on SA.

  • China Turns Japanese? [View article]
One of your charts shows "Taiwan Province of China." I am not so sure the people of Taiwan would agree with that. And if they are wrong, why are the numbers not included in the Chinese figures?

  • APB: A Closed-End Fund For An Elevated Stock Market [View article]
FROGBERT: There is a lot more to trading in CEFs than simple discount figures. Current positioning relative to the fund's historical range and regional/industry exposure would be obvious examples here.

  • Avoid GLD: Ukraine-Fueled Pop Is Unsustainable [View article]
Roger.N: Sorry, Roger. Looking at the quote and your question, I do not see the connection you are trying to to make.

  • APB: A Closed-End Fund For An Elevated Stock Market [View article]
galicianova: This misses the point here, which was to highlight the upward moves that should be seen in emerging market equities after the positive surprise in Chinese GDP and South Korean export numbers.

Things like this would send many investors into an ETF like EEM but with stock benchmarks trading at elevated levels there are ways of using CEFs to gain cheaper exposure along with access to companies that are difficult for US investors to buy directly. The stats you are asking for are easy enough to find independently.

Ah, well without the flux capacitor I guess it wouldn't matter much anyway.

sweeps63: Yes, so it makes little sense to see the sort of panic reactions that came after the S&P and Russell decisions.

rdoerr53: Absolutely agree. If we see results anything like last quarter, PSEC is going to start showing up on the radar of many more investors.

  • Why India Will Soon Outpace China [View article]
I don't think there is much debate that most of the emerging markets growth this century will be happening in India, not China.

  • GLD: Not The Ukraine Again [View article]
"But, I will implore you to turn off your CNBC, CNN, or wherever else you news junkies get your "fix," especially if your interest is to trade the metals. You would do much better to watch what the metals actually"

OK, great. Lets stop paying attention to fundamental events and "watch the metals actually."

English is my first and only language and I have no idea what this means.

  • GLD: Not The Ukraine Again [View article]
How is "What should you be watching?" a bullet point? Summary points are YOUR points, not the reader's points.

This article has nothing to do with the Ukraine beyond the first few lines, and none of those lines are fundamental assessments.
